Nine years ago, the company sold their homemade lip balm at a market in Utrecht, today they are launching their lip balm at Kruidvat. The Lekker Company, a Utrecht-based start-up that focuses on the development of natural and vegan personal care products, has successfully launched its 100% natural lip balm at the largest drugstore chain in the Netherlands.
It is remarkable for a start-up to secure a spot on the shelves of such a large retailer like Kruidvat. Especially for founder Dewi van de Waeter, this is a milestone, as she sold her homemade lip balms almost 10 years ago at a market stall in Utrecht. “It’s an honor to have our vegan balm hanging alongside the biggest brands at the most well-known drugstore in the Netherlands,” says van de Waeter.
The Lekker Company is located at the Dotslash campus on Europalaan in Utrecht and has a vision to develop sustainable and natural personal care products. The Lekker team consists of young entrepreneurs who have a passion for sustainability and natural products. It is their dream to open a flagship store in a canal house in Utrecht, where customers can try and experience different personal care products.
The lip balms from The Lekker Company are unique on the drugstore shelf because they are 100% natural, vegan, and packaged in colorful cardboard pots.
